Redbridge

Disability Festival

On Wednesday 17th July 2019 the new Everyone Health Redbridge Stop Smoking team attended the Disability Awareness Day Festival on Christchurch Green, High Street, Wanstead to raise awareness of the new service available to the people of Redbridge. This was a public event for people of all ages, there were a range of activities which included; sports, live music, food and drink, arts and crafts.

The team worked together with Wagtail (specialist detection dogs to sniff out illegal tobacco) and Trading Standards (working to raise awareness about the dangers of cheap and illegal tobacco products). The festival provided people with a disability and mental health illness the chance to enjoy a community event. The day came to an end with a surprise visit from The Mayor of Redbridge. It was a wonderful event with amazing sunny weather that contributed to the dancing and smiling faces.
