Raluca approached the stop smoking service in Redbridge in November 2020, she was pregnant 24 weeks. Since giving up 4 weeks ago the patient has been very proud of her achievement. During the first few weeks of her quit journey Raluca struggled to quit completely, but this did not stop her from trying harder. The patient is currently 31 weeks pregnant.
Raluca stopped smoking in December 2020 using nicotine patches and chewing gum. Raluca says “I prefer to use the chewing gum as it distracts me in the day”. Since giving up smoking the patient feels healthier and she can breathe better. The patient says, “I stopped drinking coffee in the morning and this has extremely helped me with my quit attempt”.
Since giving up smoking the patient feels a lot more positive and she reports no cravings.
“The service was really nice and each week I had a call, they always checked up on me, this was really pleasant. I felt no pressure during the quit attempt, the service is very motivational. The products were very helpful, I stopped using the patches after a while and I was doing well with the chewing gum only.”
