Case Study

This service user stopped smoking in April 2020, they were a smoker for 45 years. The service user signed up to our stop smoking service to get some support, as they couldn’t stop smoking without any support.

They signed up to our service as their doctor recommended the service to them. It was important for them to stop smoking as they were having health problems.

Since giving up smoking 7 weeks ago, they have already noticed some positive changes in their physical health. The service user has noticed that they do not smell of cigarettes anymore and this makes them feel very happy. The service user is very proud of their achievement.

They used the 16 hour day patches and inhalator which was found to be very effective, as they were able to use the inhalator whilst sitting in the garden. This was very important, as they used to smoke in their garden.  The service user also tried the chewing gum, which helped with their cravings. This service user is proud and determined to stay smoke free. “I will definitely recommend the service to my friends and family!”

This has been one of the best times I’ve had, to think that giving up smoking is hard. I found it very easy a lot of it was down to the encouragement from the staff and the environment they create. The best thing I’ve done in years.
